Packing List for Standard River Camping Trips
Camp Gear Provided by Montana Angler:
- all meals once in camp
- all beverages
- Sleeping Bags (professionally laundered after each trip)
- Sleeping Pads
- Pillows
- Cots
- Sleeping Tents (max 2 guests per tent)
- Hand wash station, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, etc
- Large dry bag for your personal items not needed while fishing
Fishing Gear by Montana Angler:
- fly rods
- flies, leaders, tippet and all other fishing tackle
- waders are only needed in spring and fall and can be rented at added cost
Personal Gear to Pack for Camp:
- Small flash light
- Polarized Sunglasses
- Personal toiletries (toothbrush, glasses/contacts/medications, etc)
- 2 heavy duty trash bags to separate dirty clothes from clean in your dry bag
- Sun Screen
- Phone or Camera for Photos
Recommended Clothing:
- Sandals (not flip flops) for on the river
- Sun Protection (hat with a brim, consider clothing good for sun protection such as quick dry long sleeve shirts, pants, buffs, sun gloves, etc)
- Raincoat and rain pants
- Comfortable shoes like sneakers for in camp
- Layers of clothing for camp and river (fleece, etc.)
- Quick dry, breathable clothing for on the river
- Pair of long underwear (maybe 2 for spring or fall trips)
- Gloves and warm hat for early spring, fall or winter trips
- Swimsuit if weather permits
Montana Fishing License:
- MT fishing licenses can be purchased online - see our fishing license page for information
- If you arrive early before your trip you can also purchase them at our fly shop at 435 E. Main Street in Downtown Bozeman
Optional Fishing Gear (NOTE - we provide ALL fishing tackle and can rent waders if needed. This list is ONLY for those that choose to bring their own fishing gear):
- Waders (usually only needed for cooler times of year, wet wading is common in mid summer)
- Wading boots (NO studded boots, they damage the boats)
