"Our recent fly fishing trip with Montana Angler met our expectations and then some. This being my first fly fishing trip to Montana I had high expectations and really wanted to catch a cutthroat. When we met our guide, Rob McGillicuddy, on Monday morning he made a good first impression. We had time to talk and he asked about our concerns and expectations. We headed to the Yellowstone River and my first fish was a decent cutthroat, from there the day just got better. We floated the Madison the following day then spent a day walking and wading in Yellowstone Park. Our last day was on a private ranch and both I and my fishing partner caught and released so many browns and rainbows we lost count. What a great time and ending to a great trip. I want to specifically call attention to the stellar work of the camp and gear crew - Nelson, Angus, and Heather thoroughly spoiled us at camp and meals. The guide staff was exemplary - especially Carter who took care to ensure that our day in his boat was a great experience. He closely watched our technique and gave great pointers for improvement. Every day was a great day of fishing but it was a learning experience with Carter which made it really special! I don't have any suggestions for improvement at all. "Our Smith River trip could not have been better. The guides and staff were incredible. Great people you will be proud to call friends when it is over. I'm not your standard happy with everything guy, and can be particular, but this group did not miss a trick. I haven't fly fished for 20 years- and by the end of the week could drop a nymph on a quarter at 40 feet. We caught plenty of fish, ate great food (and a lot of it), saw the most incredible scenery, and the staff was on top of everything, down to picking camp sites with the best shade and swimming for an evening dip. Our group had diehard fisherman and newbies- everyone caught fish and left happy. I'd work for this company but they work too hard! Highly recommend."  - Fred M

"Our guide Mike Hogan put us on some nice fish, both days, and he is very entertaining. Was blown away with his knowledge of old school rock and roll and country music, he also kept my wife laughing with his knowledge about the Kardashian’s (Khloe) is his favorite! At camp we meet Dana, our camp host/cook, this guy had a beautiful camp set up, candles on the dinner table, wine glasses and some really good Cabernet. For dinner he cooked stuffed mushrooms, NY strip, red potatoes,and salad, all were fantastic. A big beautiful spinach,cheese omelette with bacon, and great camp coffee. Plenty of quality trout, including the big brown I've been fishing 50 years for. I've had guides in Alaska, NH and Montana before and this was the most fun I have ever had. "This was a truly memorable and enjoyable experience. Our guides Eric and Luke were very knowledgeable. They put my 13 year old son and me on the fish and showed us how to catch them in the Yellowstone and in some of its tributaries in the National Park. We caught a good selection of large brown, rainbow and native cutthroat trout. The settings in Paradise Valley and the Park were absolutely beautiful. "This was our second time using Montana Angler to plan a vacation. First was our honeymoon and the second was three yeas later over the 4th of July. We booked our trip without much lead time and they were able to get us in an amazing house just outside of Ennis. The home was perfect and had incredible views. Since we traveled with an infant we had to be strategic on fishing times. They were very accommodating for us, and our guide (Jeff Grom) did everything in his power to make sure we caught fish. Great conversationalist, great knowledge of the river, and all around fishing guru. We will continue to use Montana Angler for future trips and we're already talking about next summer! "My dad and I did the trip to the Bob and it was one of the best I've ever been on. We caught more fish than I can count. I also caught four bull trout with the largest being 32 inches. Truly epic fishing! Rich and his staff were awesome! They were super fun to be around. I was a little worried about the 33 mile horseback ride, but it was scenic and fun. I have been to Argentina on a trip, but this one was the best. Gin clear water is an understatement. I would recommend this trip to any fly fisherman who craves a unique experience. "Our trip to the Outpost far exceeded expectations! The Outpost grounds were impeccable when we arrived. The cabins are very comfortable, clean, and quaint. Simon is a fantastic host! He communicated with me prior to arrival and prepared gourmet meals every day. Simon made us feel completely at home and we are still talking about the cast iron brownie dessert. Our guide Ben was incredibly patient and had us catching fish immediately.
