Release your inner "Trout Bum" and explore Montana in style as we take off on The Ultimate Road Trip. With our mobile camp program we can ensure that our guests will always be at the "right place at the right time" on one of the best Montana fly-fishing trips available! At over 147,000 square miles, Montana is a big state (larger in area than the country of Germany). The Big Sky state offers an incredible array of mountain ranges to explore, roads to drive, and most importantly, rivers to fish. There is no better way to sample a variety of the 170,000 river miles in Montana than The Ultimate Road Trip. By combining the state’s legendary public waters along with our special permits and exclusive private leases, our road trip program provides the flexibility for our guests to always be fishing the right spot at the right time, often on lightly pressured waters far from population centers.
Guests will enjoy deluxe camp accommodations including high clearance No Boundaries campers, large outfitter tents or wing tarps for our outdoor kitchen, and fantastic stream side meals. Our camp chefs will move our camp, campers and mobile kitchen as we progressively fish our way across the Big Sky state. With our travelling armada of diesel trucks, No Boundaries campers, wall tents, a mobile kitchen, rafts, drift boats, chefs and first class fishing guides, guests will sample the best water Montana has to offer. Each camper houses two guests and offers two beds, a hot shower, USB charging stations, heat and air conditioning and a propane refrigerator.
Our crew of personable and highly trained guides specialized in overnight trips will show you how to camp, road trip, and fish like you have never dreamed possible. Our camp staff will take care of all the cooking and break down camp while you relax and enjoy fishing on Montana’s legendary rivers. While you are out on the river fishing with our fishing guide team, the camp crew will be hard at work breaking down sleeping and kitchen tents, transporting the entire camp to a new location, and then setting it up again just in time for hot appetizers and cold drinks when you pull into camp after your day of fishing.
The Camping
Our separate camp team spares no expense setting up an elaborate camp each night of the road trip. Once you finish a hearty breakfast and prepare to head out fishing, the camp team and fishing guides will coordinate to identify the best location of the next night’s camp based on the best fishing potential. We provide all equipment needed for a world class camp including No Boundaries campers, hot showers, comfortable beds, a large kitchen tent, tables, chairs, tarps, toilets, grills, lanterns, coolers, etc. We choose camp locations each night of the trip that serve as a good central location for each day of fishing in that region. As the trip continues we move to new regions and new camping locations. Each day guides spread out to fish unique waters in that area and then reconvene at the next nights camping location. We use a variety of camping locations such as off the grid ranches, state camp grounds and RV parks. Some camp locations such as KOAs or RV parks have full hookup. When we are off the grid or at state camp grounds we have generators to run electric during the day and water tanks in the campers. In the evenings phones can be charged on usb cords even when off the grid.
The Driving
Leave the driving to us! Ride along with your guides with drift boats in tow before or after fishing each day. We plan our route to maximize both fishing variety as well as time on the water. Driving the remote back-roads of Montana can be an adventure in itself, with guests being treated to the amazing aesthetics of a Big Sky sunset and prairies dotted with wildlife en route to the next camp.
The Food
Unless you or your spouse has a culinary degree from Le Cordon Blue, we'll bet you eat better on the river than you do at home. Dinners include appetizers, fresh salads, tasty sides and main entrees such as grilled salmon, rib eye steaks and rack of lamb. Delicious Dutch oven prepared desserts await those that still have room. A generous selection of beer and wine is provided in camp each evening. Hot breakfasts include favorites such as French toast, omelets and more. Our camp team prepares tasty picnic style lunches that go out with the guides each morning.
The Fishing
Montana is home to some of the world’s most productive trout rivers. Our Montana road trip program allows us to be in the right spot at the right time whether that means chasing a specific hatch, finding clear water during runoff, or simply finding the best fishing for that given day. Camping along these legendary rivers gives you the luxury of wade fishing over the evening rise as the sun sets over the spectacular backdrop. Our Montana road trip program gives us the ultimate flexibility to get our guests on the rivers that are in the absolute best condition on a daily basis.
