Suinda provides anglers a unique opportunity to target trophy golden dorado in one of the most stable fisheries in South America. The middle Parana system is a huge river system while allowing for very stable fishing conditions. The river is also extremely productive and double digit doardo are common. In addition to the golden dorado the fishery also offers two additional game fish: the pacu and pira pita. Pound for pound pira pita are one of the hardest fighting freshwater species on earth and their penchant for attacking large foam dry flies provides for a very entertaining alternative to the larger dorado. As with all Nervous Waters run lodges Suinda provides first class accommodations, equipment and guides. We often combine Suinda with Pira Lodge farther to the north to enjoy one of the most unique and diverse golden dorado programs in South America. This is also a great program to combine with a week in Patagonia or Tierra del Fuego.

Fishing
Suinda Lodge is located in the best part of the Paraná River in terms of chances to catch super sized Dorado, Pira Pitá and Pacú on dry flies.
There are also great opportunities for sight-fishing for the three species.
The fishing program consists of two fishing sessions a day, going back to the lodge for lunch and siesta. The fishing times can vary depending on the month and climate.
In terms of tackle, 7- to 9-weight outfits are recommended for Dorado and Pacú while 5- to 6-weight outfits are the ideal for pira pitá. All with tropical floating fly lines.
Flies: 4- to 6-inch streamers tied on 2/0 hooks, include a few mice imitations; bulky floating attractors tied in 1/0 hooks and some weighted deer hair fruit imitations tied on 1/0 for pira pitá and 2/0 for pacú.
Accommodations
Accommodations
The newly constructed Suinda Lodge is one of the most best located lodges on the Parana River. Sitting on a bluff overlooking the giant river you not only have great views but your guides boat is parked on steps from your room.
The eco-property includes three spacious, two-bedroom “cabañas”, with private bathrooms. Wooden footbridges conveniently connect each room to the main dining hall. From there, it’s a short walk to the water, where you’ll spend your days exploring the Paraná’s most productive, structure rich sections for monster dorado. The lodge can host up to 6 anglers in perfect taste and comfort.
Cuisine
The Cuisine at Suinda Lodge is as good as you have come to expect from our other Nervous Waters Lodges. We offer an a la carte menu which includes local meats, garden-fresh vegetables, and inspired desserts. A traditional Asado (BBQ) will be held once during your stay, where you’ll sample spectacular cuts of meat and delicious salads.
Breakfast is served al fresco during part of the season. Made-to-order plates are the norm, featuring fresh eggs and meats, together with fruit, yogurts, home-baked breads, jams, and a selection of cereals.
Our well stocked bar is always open, and a list of fine wines will be served during lunches and dinners.
Location
Suinda lodge is based out of a traditional northern Argentinean tropical estancia located in Corrientes province by the legendary Paraná River. The river here marks the border between Argentina and Paraguay.
This section of the Paraná flows clear along beautiful fishy banks, sand bars, and islands that create deltas and smaller “riachos” (streams).
Daily flights are available from Buenos Aires Aeroparque Domestic Airport (AEP) to Corrientes (CNQ) or Resistencia (RES). These 2 neighboring airports are located 40 minutes from each other by car. It’s a 1-hour nonstop flight to any of these airports.
From there to the lodge is a 45 minutes (CNQ) to 1-hour and 25 minutes’ drive (RES)
